Chest Pains In The Same Spot. Lying Down And Drinking Soda Helps. EKG Normal. Treatment?
I m going to be honest with you. I m 14, and a girl. I ve had random chest pains is the same spot (left side near my heart ) for a few years. Sometimes the pain will last for a minute or two, sometimes and hour or two. I have no clue what to do, and i have had an EKG done before but nothing ever showed up. But I m still worried because it can be verry painful. I normaly just lay down and/or drink a soda and hope it goes away quickly. What do you recomend I do? Thank You
Hello,
From the kind of description that you have stated, it appears that the pain you are having is probably musculo-skeletal (Muscle/bone) or due to acidity. The fact that drinking soda helps, suggests that it is probably due to acidity. You should monitor your diet and refrain from all sorts of spicy and fried items. Take the food at proper time. Also you can use OTC ranitidine tablets in case you have such acidity like pains. Trust me, it is better than soda!
If the pain aggravates by some particular posture, then it is a musculo-skeletal pain and then you should consider changing your posture and also come exercises as will be suggested to you by your physiotherapist.
Hope I am able to solve your concerns.
Your symptoms are more suggestive of chest pain due to increased acidity and gas.
You should follow some precautions like :-
1. Avoid spicy and oily foods.
2. Donot miss a meal.
3. Avoid emotional/mental stress.
4. Donot self medicate especially with pain killers and steroids.
5. Yoghurt or curd will be helpful.
Taking antacid like Omeprazole 20 mg along with Domperidone 10 mg will be helpful in relieving your symptoms. Antacid gel will also be beneficial.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
