Pulmonologist 's  Response
Tajamul,
This report means that there is a left hilar lymph node enlargement.
Lymph node are normal organs throughout the body that help in transport of fats and vitamins and nutrients. They also carry lymphocytes that are the natural soldiers of the body that fight foreign substances. They enlarge generally in response to an infection.
So if there is a left hilar lymphadenopathy on the background of fever or cough it can be a sign of tuberculosis, Sarcoidosis, pariste infection and tropical eosinophilia.
