Child. Abnormal Blood Count. Diagnosed Reactive Lymphocytes, Neutrophil Left Shift And Mild Anaemic. History Of Pneumonia. Serious?

Hi Doctor. My son is two years old. After recovering from pneumonia around the second week of Januuary this year his blood count has been abnormal. He has undergone several blood tests for his blood picture and FBC. The recent test report reads that he has reactive lymphocytes, neutrophil left shift and mild anaemic. Could you please explain to me his health condition.

Thanks doctor. My email Id is YYYY@YYYY

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to HCM. These are nonspecific findings which indiacte that there is any kind of infection in body, most common respiratory or urinary. You didnt say the exact values and his symptoms so it is hard to evaluate significancy of these results. This also can be pneumonia reccurence, but I suggest to wait and see will hie develop some respiratory symptoms and repeat blood tests in a 4-5 days. This will show you is there any improvement and is treatment neccessary. WIsh you good health.
