ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

I understand your concern regarding your childs hearing. It is possible that you could have caused injury to the ear canal or eardrum. The only way to differentiate would be to get a physical exam by a Specialist.
For the ear pain you could give a pain killer syrup like Ibugesic. Keep the ears dry, as most holes of the eardrum heal spontaneously in 3-4 weeks. Water entry may result in a middle ear infection and prevent the hole from healing. Do not meddle with the childs ears and don't use earbuds. Hope the above information helps.

Wish your son a speedy recovery,
Dr Vaishali Mehta
