Child. Strange Rythmic Clicking Noise From Chest Followed By Retching. History Of Falling From Bed. Concerning?
Hi My 3 year old fell out of bed, and when I went to pick him up I noticed a strange rhythmic clicking noise in his chest. At first I thought it was some kind of hiccups, but his vocal chords were not closed with each click, he was still crying from the fall. He then rushed to the bathroom saying he needed to get sick, retched once but nothing came up, and the clicking had stopped. What could this be? Should I be worried?
I just think maybe you were just anxious and if he became fine, its possible it should not be something very serious. I suggest you observe the child for pain, respiratory distress and cough. In case, the health condition of the child continues to aggravate, it might be useful to see a physician. A chest X ray might be useful to exclude any lesion of the lungs or any rib fractures. I suggest you keep watching the baby and consult your physician in case if need be. Kind regards.
