Child Complaining Of Severe Headaches, Low Platelet Count, Viral Fever. Taking Klacid. Worried?
Hi.doc...my five year old complained of sudden severe headaches last week...about twenty minutes for both days..at the clinic.they conducted an x ray to check for sinus ...blood tests report are out...his platelets r 645...his potassium is 5.2and esinophil is slightly high too...he has a viral fever on the 18feb...temp upto 103.7and till 24feb he had his course of anti b called klacid......do i need to worry J
I understand your concern but you have not provided the complete details of the investigations like the total and differential counts. Platelet count of 645... is incomplete for me to say if the count is low.
There can be a number of reasons for headache and if the sinuses are normal radiologically then I think that you can wait and observe.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
