After newborn period & till
puberty, girl child can normally have a thin mucoid discharge which is always odourless.
Vaginal discharge that is a different consistency, malodorous, accompanied by blood, pain, itching,
redness or burning urination is usually not normal.
If she has any of these please see a doctor to rule out any fungal or bacterial infection.
Nonspecific discharge can be due to poor hygiene, bubble bath and soaps or restrictive clothing.
