Child Fainted At Day Care. What Caused It? Serious? Should I See A Doctor?

My 3.5 year old daughter "fainted" today at daycare and I went to pick her up. What i discovered after picking her up was that she failed to recognize anyone for 20 minutes following the 'fainting' episode, and had severely impaired coordination during this time also. Do you have any suggestions as to what this may be? The doctor I saw simply said if it happened again to go to ED. Thank you so much.

hi ! was that episode associated with any abnormal movement or frothing from mouth or passage of urine or stools ? is there any family history of epilepsy ? if the answer to both the above questions are in negative then most probably it is due to vasovagal attack for which you need not worry as it doesn't cause any harm. in case answer is in affirmative, you need to see a specialist as seizure may recur during 24hrs after an episode. take care .
