Child Fell From Bicycle, Bumped Forehead Above Eyebrow, Swollen. Shall I See A Doctor?

Hello? My daughter (6years old) fell from the bicycle and bumped her forehead just above the eyebrow the place swollen. We applied ice pack, but 3-4 hours later her upper had swollen and she could not open her eye. I am applying ice every 1-2 hours for 10 minutes . Shall we see a doctor? Thanks you

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
There is hematoma at injury site.
Continue with ice packs for 5 to 10 min 3 to 4 times a day.
Guve acetaminophen for pain relief.
In case there is increasing pain and swelling
in next 24hours get her examined by doctor.Hope this helps.

Hi,
Thanks and welcome to HCM.
when there is injury to the fore head above the eye brow,usually swelling and bluish discoloration of the eye.
It is not possible to open the eye for some days even though there is no direct injury to the eye.(black eye)
it will pass off within few days as the wound heals.
Nothing to worry.
Treat the injury first.
Observe for drowsiness , vomiting and convulsions within 48 hours of injury.
If present, consult doctor immediately
