Child Gets Frequent Fever With Sore Legs, Stomach And Back Pain, Had Bladder Infection In The Past. What Could This Be?
Hello, my 3 year old has a fever once a month since she was 1.5 years old. She has had 2 bladder infections and the last time she got tested for one, it came out positive for a bladder infection, then negative when we wanted to double check. Now she has a fever again one month later, and had been complaining of sore legs, stomach pains this morning, and also back pain . What could this be??? It just keeps coming back almost exactly once a month!
hello good evening. bladder infections are common in this age but is confirmed only by a urine culture or an ultrasound of abdomen. i want to know whether ur child attends a play home or a school, if yes then it could be frequent cross infections from other kids. avoid using diapers for a long time to prevent frequent urine infections, please tell the class teacher in her school to take care that she dosent share her water can or spoon with other kids so as to prevent cross infections. currently ur child may have a viral fever, thats the reason she s having bodyache. u can try paracetamol to reduce fever and bodyache, if its not getting settled in 72 hrs she might require a complete blood count to see her status. wecan also know her haemoglobin levels , and if low , anemia should be treated so her immunity boosts up and she dosent fall ill frequently. for further doubts please contact ur doctor.
