Child Got Hit On The Eye. Swelling, Blurred Vision. Need To Go To Emergency?

My daughter got hit in the eye by a tennis ball. It hurts. Swollen. She keeps it shut, when she opens it she can see through it but everything is blurry. We applied some ice and gave her some tylenol. Should we wait a couple of days and see a doctor if things are still blurry, go see a doctor tomorrow during the day or rush to an emergency room tonight. It is swelling up pretty big.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

The swelling of the soft tissue around the eye post the injury leads to obstruction in the vision. The swelling will reduce in few days ,however what is of concern is the blur vision.

I would advise you to get her examined so that the ophthalmologist could rule out a haemorrhage inside the eyes.

Regards
Take Care.
