Child Had A Severe Brain Stroke, Aphasia. Cannot Pronounce, Speak. Cannot Understand Properly. Treatment?
Hi, Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic. Repeated and recurrent strokes will occur in Moya-Moya disease. The loss of speech is due to involvement of the brain speech area which usually present in dominant hemisphere. Physiotherapy is the mainstay of therapy to improve the muscle power. Continue the medication as advised by the doctor. Inability to understand may be due to problems in receptive area of speech. But objective hearing test should be done to know the level of hearing. Continue speech therapy. Consult a pediatric neurologist and be in regular follow up with him, physiotherapist, and speech therapist. Hope I have answered your query. Regards.
