Child Had Continuous Vomiting Followed By Dry Heaving, Throat Pain, Had Red Veins On Tonsils. Cause?

Two days ago my son vomited for about 5 hours. He had terrible dry heaves for most of the duration of this episode. No fever, did complain of his throat hurting. Now I noticed like red veins on his tonsils. And his uvula sticks to his tonsils sometimes. And only occasionally complains his throat hurts now. But acts completely fine. Just wondering if the red veins are from straining while vomiting. If not what could cause this??

Hi,
As there is no other complain like fever and vomiting now nothing to worry.
Soreness and congestion in throat might be due to profuse vomiting and passing acidic vomiting might give irritation and soreness.
Give light diet.
Give cold drinks, fruit juices and ice creams.
Ok and take care.
