I do her sonography , which result she is normal no sign of any complication.then he gave her Digeplex and carmicide. Then also some times she gets pain . on 16th july he suggest to continue her dose.but no use. and now on 31st july he gave her the following medicines: Aristozyme 5ml 3 times a day, Meftal spas 5 ml 3 times a day,

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi i am Dr.kadhir,

First i would like to say that its important to know the full history of her problems and the examine her in detail , by doing these two things properly it would be easy to come to a conclusion and this is what she need.

Most of time abdominal pain would be functional in kids, that is without any underlying problems, but this is usually seen in older kids. Its quite unusual to have a functional abdominal pain in a child less than 3 years.

As your doctor said,it is not common for children to have pain due to gastritis just because for food ( which is more common in adults) .
I don't want to criticize your doctor , but her prescriptions says she was not clear or she might have been too busy to analyse her problem in details. repeating USG abdomen has no role in your child's problem.

Many conditions can cause abdominal pain in kids, few symptoms are considered as important for further evaluation , they are
1. stool ( motion) consistency loose or constipation, excessive flatulence
2. blood in stools or pale stools
3. vomiting or nausea / loss of appetite
4. weight loss or faltering of growth.
5. pain associated with specific foods?

if any of the above mentioned symptoms or persistence of symptoms , definitely require a pediatric gastro enterologist opinion .

Thank you for your consultation in healthcare magic.

Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

In some children in spite of extensive evaluation, there will be no detectable cause for the stomach pain.

I advise you to repeat the ultrasound abdomen and pelvis and do other investigations like stool routine examination and urine examination.

Look and observe carefully for her pain relation to intake of any particular food.

Is she having any food allergy?

Don't give spicy diet as it will cause gastritis and leads to pain abdomen.

Consult the pediatrician for examination and evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Pain abdomen in children could be because of several causes.
It could be because of gastritis, constipation, hepatitis, colitis, urinary tract infection etc etc.
There are lot of causes for pain abdomen in children. First the child should be properly examined for the cause. Depending on the examination finding the child should be investigated to arrive at a cause for that.

Some times stress can also cause pain abdomen in children. Search for any problem with teachers, siblings, parents, friends etc.

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
