Hi i am Dr.kadhir,
First i would like to say that its important to know the full history of her problems and the examine her in detail , by doing these two things properly it would be easy to come to a conclusion and this is what she need.
Most of time abdominal pain would be functional in kids, that is without any underlying problems, but this is usually seen in older kids. Its quite unusual to have a
functional abdominal pain in a child less than 3 years.
As your doctor said,it is not common for children to have pain due to
gastritis just because for food ( which is more common in adults) .
I don't want to criticize your doctor , but her prescriptions says she was not clear or she might have been too busy to analyse her problem in details. repeating USG abdomen has no role in your child's problem.
Many conditions can cause abdominal pain in kids, few symptoms are considered as important for further evaluation , they are
1. stool ( motion) consistency loose or
constipation, excessive flatulence
2. blood in stools or pale stools
3.
vomiting or
nausea / loss of appetite
4.
weight loss or faltering of growth.
5. pain associated with specific foods?
if any of the above mentioned symptoms or persistence of symptoms , definitely require a pediatric gastro enterologist opinion .
Thank you for your consultation in healthcare magic.
