Child Has Been Urinating Blood. Tests Reveal High EOS, A/G Ratio, WBC Esterase. What Is Mild Right Kidney Pelviectasis?
My 14 year old son has been urinating blood for several weeks. The doctor ordered urine, blood tests and ultrasound of kidney and bladder. He has high EOS (7), high A/G ratio (2.7), WBC Esterase (trace abnormal), protein (1+), occult blood (3+), RBC (>30) and the ultrasound stated he has right kidney mild pelviectasis. They are recommending an referral to an Urologist and CT scan. What is mild right kidney pelviectasis? Thank you
Welcome to HCM.Pelviectasis is the dilatation of the pelvic calyx/collecting system of the kidney. The cause of this can be of infective origin, obstruction of the ureter due to stone/mass/stricture or other reasons which need to be investigated further.
