Child Has Chest Congestion And Coughing. Had Asthmatic Condition, Complaining Stomach Pain. Suggest?

Hi, My 6-year old son has a lot of chest congestion and has been coughing a lot the last 2+ days, and also has had some asthmatic conditions (I could hear wheezing as he drew in a breath to cough last night, but gave him albuterol today and have not heard it as much today). He is now waking up complaining of strong stomach pain. Lower stomach area, it seems. I am guessing it could be from all of his coughing? Is there anything else it could be? Thank you for any help you can provide.

hello dear,
thanks for your query at health care magic,
you have mentioned your child having some asthamatic condition is he diagnosed to be having asthama before? or taking any regular medication for asthma?
merely decreasing of symptoms with albuterol does not suggest it be a asthamatic.
does your child have any fever, headache, vomitings?
it seems your child might be suffering from lower respiratory tract infection , stomach pain may be because of that. consult your nearest doctor and have base line investigation done like complete blood picture, and chest x ray.
thank you.

Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
Stomach pain may be due to excessive coughing.
For cough you can give a cough syrup with a bronchodilator in prescribed dose.
If there is wheezing, nebulization has to be continued with albuterol.
And consult the pediatrician to examine his lungs and abdomen.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.

Hi
Thanx for your query
I can feel your concern
This seems to be a due to coughing
the other possibility is acid peptic disease
I Advise you to give him cough supperesent and steam inhalation
give him milk and omeprazole
avoid giving spicy food

Have a proper clinical examination
Hope it helps

stomach ache in this condition may be due to excessive coughing or some oral drugs side effects if taken and pain radiating to stomach from some lung disease.does your child has fever.has he had these episodes earlier too.does asthma is present in your family.generally childhood asthma gets cured by itself by 5 yrs of age.if chest congestion is present and child has fever too thn an antibiotic needs to be added.get an expert consultation as the appropriate examination will reveal the pathology and thn can be treated accordingly.
