Hello
Your doctor has advised you correctly. In case of bite by a unimmunised dog at least 3 doses of vaccine is needed ( if dog is healthy for next 10 days). In case you can not observe the dog or dog dies before 10 days then full course of vaccine will be required.
Rabies immunoglobulin may also be needed if bite is severe or on the face/neck.
So don't get confused. Follow the advise of your doctor and complete the vaccination as per schedule.
Regards
