ENT Specialist 's  Response
The wax gets swollen with drops as it becomes soft so usually does not cause pain. But sometimes the wax becomes swollen but is not that soft and gets impacted. This causes pain. Also sometimes it gets infected and that can also be the reason for pain. Please give her some analegics and a short course of antibiotics. Complete relief in pain will be after completely cleaning the ear. So, do visit an ENT and get ear cleaned. Regards
