Child Has Fever. Unable To Draw Blood. Is It Harmful?

Hi there I am quite upset as my daughter had a high fever and they tried to draw blood from both her arms without any success. What bothers me is the fact that the nurse inserted the needle, and when she could not find any blood, started to move the needle around(left to right) while still in my daughters arm. Could this not be harmfull? Also, se pulled the syringe up to extract the bloood, and when nothing came out, pushed it down again, also still in her arm. Should I complain about this? Now we still do not know what caused the fever, and my child has been traumatised for no reason, as the doctor on duty only then said, no its fine we can wait another 2 days to check if she improves. My daughter is 2 years old. Should I complain and what do I do next time they want to take blood for tests?

hello..
as u said ur daughter is ill with high fever ..sometimes when we r lean or thin and veins are deep its difficult to draw the blood as the veins are not identified properly..
and even in weakness the veins get punctured easily wasting the vein we get..
anyways improper technique may be one of the reasons too.. but usually when we dont get blood from the veins we just move the needle abit to get into the vein so thats a normal process..
anyways u need not b anxious enough as the doctor ther will take care of all this if u just speak to him..
if fever reduces then no need to worry or else again go for blood tests..
take care and speak to ur doctor and he will solve but nothing to complain..
take care..
