Child Has Fever, Vomiting Green Mucus, Cough, Blocked Nose. Given Paracetamol. What Is The Problem?
Hi my 4 year old has been ill since Friday she has been having high temperatures but subsides after giving her paracetamol syrup. When I put her to bed at night she vomited lime green mucus one night and today just 1 hour ago while in bed vomited green mucus, please tell me what could be the problem. Also she has a cough and a bunged up nose
The vomitings may be due to the swallowed mucus from the respiratory tract which usually causes gastric irritation and vomitings.
Some times child will have post tussive vomitings which occur after a bout of cough due to pressure on vomitind centre which is closely located to the cough centre.
And consult the pediatrician for the examination of the child, his throat, and lungs to look for any focus of infection and for antibiotic course if required.

Child Has Fever, Vomiting Green Mucus, Cough, Blocked Nose. Given Paracetamol. What Is The Problem?
Hi, Thanks for writing to health care magic. What is the temperature like? Is your kid breathing fast? Are there any chest retractions (in drawing of chest)? Your kid may require antibiotics after examination by your pediatrician. Nose block may be treated with normal saline drops to clear the block. Please reply in detail so that we can help you better. Hope this helps. Take care.
