Child Has Hole In Neck From Birth, Yellow Discharge. Surgery After Growing Older. Any Other Solution?
my daughter has a small hole in the neck from birth, when she was a month old I got scared and took her to a doctor, he told me it has to be operated when she grows old, but still am not satisfy as he did not tell me what was the cause or what it was..... can you please help me as she is now 9 years old and the yellowish stuff coming from that small hole it is starting t0 irritate her though is not pain full. is the operation 100% safe?

hole in neck can be thyroglossal fistula or branchial cyst cleft or such related anomaly.you did right thing by taking your daughter to doctor.next right thing will be get har operated whenever your doctor commands you to do so.our neck is made up of joining several different parts when the baby is in mothers womb.whenever there is some problem in fusion of all these part or little malalingment such hole remains.there is no other treatment available for them except surgery.so its best to get them operated.
