Child Has Infection In Mouth. Prescribed Novamox Causing Red Scars In Body. Advice?
My child is 1 month old , he was not taking milk properly so my wife took him to doctor ,she told that he had some infection in mouth and then Doctor asked us to give 10 ml of Novamox (5gm powder)...after taking 2-3 dose of it he got some red scars on his complete body...please suggest will it be due to that or can be some othere reason
Hello, Your child was given Noavamox dry syrup for infection in the mouth. After intake of Novamox your child got allergic like red scars all over the body. We have to consider that it is only due to amoxicillin (Novamox) allergy. Stop the drug and consult the Dr immediately. He may give some cortisone and anti histaminic injection to tackle the allergy as a first step, followed by a tapering dose of cortisone and anti allergic drugs orally. Avoid any antibiotics for the time being. In future before getting a prescription from any Dr. inform the Dr that your child is allergic to Amoxycilline. For the time being for the mouth infection apply some gel containing anti fungal + cortisone Your child will be alright Best wishes to you all
