Child Has Sore Throat, Sweating, Low Fever. Previously Had Spots On Back, Armpit. Suggestions?
Hi, my 5 year old son who was fine just before bed, woke up complaining of a sore throat , we gave him some water and calpol and now he is sweating a lot and has a body temp of 35.8, he had about 6 small spots of his back and under his arm the middle of last week which we thought was the start of chicken pox which he has already had but they went after a couple of days. Can you give us an advise?
hello, this low body temperature with sweating can sometimes be caused by paracetamol itself when given in a dose more than recommended. so please check if u you had given the drug in proper dose and was it actually needed to be given (that is was the child febrile). about sore throat please consult your pediatrician or ENT specialist to know if it needed some specific treatment. as far as the the earlier episode of some small spots you noticed, it may be any viral illness associated with these kind of lesions that may have subsided on its own. if there is any relation between that and present episode of sore throat needs to be evaluated by a pediatrician with more detailed history and physical examination, so please consult your pediatrician before giving any further medicine. thanks
