Child Has Speech Delay. Does Not Say Ma-ma, Da-da. Genes Not Tested Yet. Cure For Symptoms?
There are other syndromes related to Angel man syndrome with some of the same symptoms--can you tell me what they are? My grandson has lack of speech and infatuated with water play, small head etc... He was 2 yrs 4-30-13. No speech at all but can screech,sometimes babble, but makes no sense, does not say ma-ma or da-da. Has not had genes tested yet. Is going to a speech pathologist, but has not been tested to see for sure what is causing this. No problem walking as I can tell, but was a little delayed with it, no seisures yet Thank You

On what basis was the diagnosis that you were speaking of was made? There are various causes of speed delay and developmental delay.
Various causes like not crying immediately after birth, infections of the brain, low glucose levels, brain injury because of various causes, various syndromes, harmonal imbalance like hypothyroidism etc can cause developmental delay.
Was a thyroid assay done?
