Child Has Vomiting After Crying, Coughing, After Meals. Taking Motilium

hi my daughter is 3 years old and she is frequently vomiting since birth . at morning she refuses to eat any thing for 2hours then she eat 3 or 4 very very small meals with 3 hours in() she vomits after crying coughing or without any cause . immediately after meal or within 2 hours. she eats all types nearly .her weight is 12 kg and her height is 85 cm . she looks anamic . she takes motilium

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Children with GERD i.e. gastro esophageal reflux disease have recurrent episodes of vomiting.

Endoscopy and lower esophageal ph monitoring are useful in confirming the diagnosis.

Force feeding is also one of the various causes of vomiting.

Severe cough can cause vomiting in a child in whom the stomach is full.

Motilium is a pro-kinetic drug (promotes peristalsis - forward movement at bowel)
It is for symptomatic treatment of vomiting.
For definitive treatment, the child needs examination and/or investigation to arrive at proper diagnosis...there could be several reasons, the usual one is reflux...
