Child Have Diarrhea And Fever. All Test Done. No Medication Now. What To Do?

Hi. I have a 13 year old son who has been sick for over 4 weeks now. The first week and a half, he had small bouts of diarrhea along with a low grade temperature. I assumed he had the flu since that had been going around in his school. After the diarrhea subsided, he started getting some minor pains around the belly button area. Then, he went almost 2 weeks of only having about 4 bowel movements, which consisted of very hard stools and they were black. The pain has continuously gotten worse. I took him to the ER about a week and a half ago. They did a bunch of blood work and a CT. Everything came back negative. His regular physician then did stool samples which came back negative for any blood. His father has Crohn's Disease. I was able to get him in to see his father's GI doctor, who was not much help at all and I am not satisfied. He had us do a 1 day cleanse yesterday with Magnesium Citrate, I believe it was? I believe it flushed him out completely. Now, today, he is having extreme abdominal pain with a horrible burning sensation. The pain starts out around the belly button and shoots off to the left side of his abdomen. I am at a total loss here. The GI doctor doesn't want to see him back for 6 weeks. He has already missed 4 weeks of school now. Do you have any suggestions?? I am in dire need of some help and answers!! My poor baby is miserable!
