Child Have Fever. Prescribed Meftal And Calpol Along With Zinc Syrup. All Test Done. What To Do?
Dear Sir, My 1.6 years baby has fever since friday night .Doctor advised meftal and calpol ,zinc syrup and good bacteria generating medicine. She has puss cells range 4-5 and protein trace in urine as per routine test and stool test was normal. does she has infection.pls let me know what to do.she had uti symptoms last year in august. Does she has urine reflux. her sonography last year in august showed perfectly working abdomen and other areas.should we do urine culture tommorrow.
Hi and thanks for the query, Its good the urine analysis was done already. It might at times be difficult interpreting the white blood cells count in urine in the absence of the nitrite values. In case the urinary nitrites were negative, you might just need to continue with prescription of your doctor as you wait for the results of the urine culture. Its of utmost importance to monitor her especially as she had a urinary tract infection last year. However, negative results from the sonography are reassuring. I suggest you stay calm as you await the results of the urine culture. However, any unusual events like excessive fevers or vomiting, aggravation of the general outlook should warrant a consultation. If not, she just stay calm as you wait for the test results. thanks and best regards, Luchuo, MD.
