Child Having Enlarged Occipital Lymph Node. Normal In Toddler?
I have noticed that my 18 month old daughter has an enlarged occipital lymph node. I understand this to be the situation due to its position. There appears to be bi lateral swelling yet larger on the right side. She doesn t have any scalp infections or skin conditions of her head. Is This a normal finding In a toddler?
Hi ,
Thank you for your query.
Occipital lymph node more than 1 cm should be treated. If there is no scalp or skin conditions in the nearby area then check for dandruff.
Dandruff should be treated if there is any.
Otherwise an antibiotic locally or orally can be tried for 7 days after consulting your doctor.
Consult your doctor if the problem persists.
If you have any further queries you are free to consult me.
Hope this answers your query.
Wishing a speedy recovery.
Have a nice day.
