Child Having Fever. What Should Be The Dosage For Combifalm Syrup?
I am in the office and received a call from home maker that my daughter ( 9 yrs old ) is suffering from fever . She brought a combiflem syrup from market and asking me what dose should I give . I will visit to doctor in the evening hence may I request you to let know the dose so that fever can manage till evening. Thanks
Combiflam is a combination of Ibuprofen 100mg and Paracetamol 125mg. It can be given as 10mg/kg body weight for three times a day. That is give one dose 3 times a day.
It should be given when the child has had some food. Also child needs to drink plenty of water because this can cause stomach ulcers and possible kidney injury.
Best for fever would be Paracetamol syrup which comes in 125mg/5ml suspension. This will have lesser side effects. This can be given at 15mg/kg weight which means around 3 times a day.
Kindly get your child examined by Pediatrician to find source of infection or cause of fever and adequate treatment.
