Child Having Fever, Developed Blisters In Upper Body, Swelling Of Gums. Suspecting Herpes Or Viral Infection. Serious?

Hi there,
My 14 month old developed and we've been managing it with some children's Tylenol. Fever began about 36 hrs ago and in the last 4 hrs she began getting these blister like spots on her upper body, much like small Miskito bites. We since brought her in to the walk-in clinic an and the pediatrician checked her and noticed swelling of the gums in addition to her mild fever and soars.
He says the swelling of the gums can be the early stages of some type of Herpes or viral infection where these will manifest inside the mouth causing pain and a lot of discomfort. What is your opinion on this, is this very serious. We!re extremely concerned. Please help, thank you

Hi dear
Welcome to the HCM,
Fever with rashes in the body are the features of some viral infection in the body.
Usually viral infection tend to subside in a week approximately, and rashes in the body may subside in 3 to 4 days and some times these rashes take time to fade ( week to one and half week)
Measles and chiken pox rashes usually take some time.
No specific medicines used to stop or cure these infection except the symptoms caused by these viral infection can be controlled like fever, cough ,running nose etc.
If the child is coughing a lot then we can think of giving some antibiotic considering some superadded bacterial infection in the chest.

Need not to panic , your child will be ok in 3 to 4 days. He may require some antipyretics like paracetamol and some antihistaminic medicine to subside the symptoms.
Hope the query is answered.
Thanks
