Child Having On And Off Fever. Having Paracetamol, Sponge Bath. Viral Infection? Lymphocytes Level 38%, High?
my babygirl is 4 months old with 38% lymphocytes level, is it high for her age? she had fever for 24 hours now...and I gave her paracetamol for it and a sponge bath but it s still on and off..could she have a viral infection? ...what the treatment for it...should I be worried? her WBC is 6.5, monocytes =02, neutrophils= 60...pls help..
From the description and results of blood test given, it seems she is suffering most probably from a viral infection. I would request to liaise with your doctor to discuss the blood test results. It doesn't seem to be too abnormal from the blood results.
Paracetamol is a very good anti-fever medicines, please continue giving it as per the instructions from your doctor.
There is no specific treatment for viral infection. Usually, it takes anything between 5-7 days for complete recovery. If any further symptoms appear or the fever is not responding with paracetamol, considering her age - you may need to visit your doctor again.
You need to make sure she gets enough food/fluids and having adequate wet nappies.
