Child Having Sore, Painful, Swollen Feet. Took Advil For Relief. Best Treatment Possible?
My 8 year old daughter has very sore feet . The ball on the underneath of each foot is swollen and painful. This began this morning and has gotten worse as the day has progressed. Something to note is that she had wet feet for a good portion of the day today as she got snow in her boot while at school. We have given her children s advil for the pain and swelling and also rubbed them with lotion as the underneaths of her feet were also a little dry. She is currently resting with them in an elevated position. She has not done anything from a physical standpoint to injure her feet to cause the swelling or pain. We are hoping you can provide some guidance on what this might be and/or best way to treat it. Thanks, Sean

What she has is most likely a numbness and is due to the romp in the snow. You are already doing the correct thing by resting her and applying a calming lotion. She would be all right in a day or so. Nothing further needs to be done.
