Child, Sleeping For Long Hours, Lack Of Appetite, White Stool, Diarrhea, Gas. Yoghurt, Dairy Products Fed. Advise?

My child who is three and a half has slept more than 20 of the past 24 hours, has had a loss of appetite, had a white stool two days ago and other than that has had diarrhea once per day. He is normally very energetic. And he has had lots of gas after he had eaten. Have tried to give him yogurt and avoid dairy, but not always successfully. Neither his eyes nor complexion are yellowish. He did vomit once two days ago but this may have happened because we were pushing him to eat. Otherwise he has NOT vomitted in the four days since the onset of the symptoms above. Any advise you can give would be appreciated.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.
You child should be physically examined to arrive at a diagnosis. If he is so lethargic (which is a danger sign) I suggest you to take him to the doctor at the earliest possible. Since he is having pale stool serum bilirubin examination may be required.
Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
