Child Started Concerta. Do We Fear Dependence On The Medication? Can It Be Continued?
HI.
I HAVE A CHILD , HE HAVE 11 YEARS. BEFORE 2 WEEKS HE START WITH CONCERTA 28mg WITH MEDICAL PERSCRIPTION . IN FEW DAYS HE WAS A DIFFERENT PERSON,HE LOOK LIKE DOWN..... WE ASK HIS DOCTOR LESS AND HE GIVE HIM 18mg. HE HIS BETTER BUT THE PROBLEM IN THE SCHOOL BCS HE START THE BE LIKE BEFORE .
MY QUESTION :1- IS BETTER TO CONTINUE WITH 18mg FOR FEW WEEKS OR RETURN BACK WITH 28mg.
2- THIS MEDICATION MAKE HIM DEPENDENCE OR NOT AFTER SOME YEARS.

Concerta 18mg daily in the morning as a single dose is alright for those people taking 6mg thrice daily or 10mg thrice daily.
If adverse reactions are noted the dose can be lowered but if after lowering or adjusting dost=e, if no improvement the drug has to be withdrawn'
No doubt it a habbit forming drug.
t should be taken under strict medical supervision
