Child Suffering From Persistent Dry Cough, Gave Antibiotics, Nebulization, Blood Tests Normal, No Relief. Alternatives?
My son is 3 years 3 months since last 20 days he is suffering from dry cough . i consult with doctor one course of antibiotic over and did nebulization 3 times. But still cough is there.Due to this cough we did blood test also Sr IG test TB test etc., but nothing was der. i dont want to try another course. he got appetite because of that. shall i give chericof? if it means how many ml i ve to give.

I am a General Physician and read your mail in detail. Firstly I want to know that is the cough dry or not.
If their is no fever, no yellow colored sputum or no breathlessness than there is no need of more course of antibiotic.
The now may be viral or some allergic related cough.
Give your child steam inhalation and use vicks vapor-ab locally and try to expel out the sputum as much as you can. Only this will help in curing from cough. Also protect your child from dirt or pollans etc which can cause increase in cough.
If cough is not dry than along with steam inhalation you can give Chericof one TSF twice a day.
