Child Vomiting After Eating Fish. Allergy?

Hi.Today my baby girl vomited after she had fish for the second time. More specific, both times she had fish at lunchtime and vomited 7 hours later as she started caughing right after she fell asleep. The point is that there was mucus in her vomit as she s got a cold (both times). How can I know if it s the fish or the mucus that cause the vomiting?

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

I can understand your dilemma. As you have not mentioned the age of your daughter I presume that you gave her fish for the first time. In this case avoid giving her fish for a week or so. Once she is normal and does not have any upper respiratory tract infection (cold) then you can re-introduce fish and see. If she is allergic she should vomit again.

Children with upper respiratory tract infection do vomit with cough. I suggest that you give her some decongestant/cough syrup for relief from cough.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter all the best.

Regards,

RKK
