Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
In
G6PD deficiency mainly some drugs usually create hemolysis and cause anemia if they are given to the child with having this problem.
Food products have no role and you are giving Promil Gold since the age of 6 months, no need to stop this formula.
The following drugs will cause hemolysis and you can get the drug list from your
Pediatrician so that you can avoid the drugs.
Drugs and chemicals to be avoided:
Sulfonamides, Bactrim,
nalidixic acid, chloramphenicol,
nitrofurantoin, primaquin, pamaquin, chloroquin, quinacrine, phenacetin, vitamin K analogs, methylene blue, probenecid, acetylsalycic acid,
phenazopyridine, and chemicals like phenyl hydrazine, benzene, naphthalene.
And before using any medication or chemical product be careful and consult the pediatrician.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
