Child With A Wart Like Growth On The Hand. What Is It?

I have been taking my son to the doc over what I thought was a wart on his hand. nothing was helping him. I ask a doctor today about it and showed him a pic and he said it wasn't a wart it was something else. He called it something but I forgot the name, it started with a "c" maybe. He said they are common to get He needs to go to the doctor and have them scrap it off Can you tell me what it is.
