Child With Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, Lymph Nodes Affected. Treated With Chemotherapy And CA12. Any New Treatment Or Long Term Survival Rates?
child with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma . 3 lymph nodes affected. 2 in the calf right above the primary tumor and 1 under the liver. no bone or marrow involvement. being treated at CHOP with chemo, also in a clinical trial with the CA12. Chemo seems to be working. after 1 full week of chemo primary tumor decrease 2 cm...arethere any new stats on long term survival rates?

The Dr's at CHOP are excellent and will be fully versed in the latest treatment protocols as part of the Children's Oncology Group. As your child is enrolled in an open trial I am sure they are receiving the best and most up too date treatment. The long term survival rates are adversely affected by lymph node involvement but there are many other factors to consider when giving prognostic information.
