Child With Concussion And Skull Fracture. What To Do To Heal The Fracture?
my child suffered a fall yesterday he had a concussion and a skull fracture a ct was done and he was released because he was doing well... should I be worried that further injury can happen if he bumps his head at home just playing with his brother? what can I do to help heal the fracture? I left the ER with so many questions I am just a nervous wreck to just let him play at home.
HI, WELCOME TO HCM. SINCE THE CHILD HAS BEEN SEEN AND DISCHARGED FROM HOSPITAL THE CHILD IS SUPPOSED TO BE MEDICALLY FIT TO BE DISCHARGED AS YOUR STATEMENT SHOWS THAT HE IS HAVING SKULL BONE FRACTURE ,IT IS OBVIOUS THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF THE CHILD AND HE SHOULD NOT SUSTAIN FURTHER INJURY .OTHERS IN THE FAMILY MEMBERS SPECIALLY THE KIDS SHOULD BE GUIDED THAT FURTHE INJURY DOES NOT OCCUR . SKULL FRACTURE WITHOUT ANY DISPLACEMENT DOES NOT REQUIRE ANY SPECIAL PLASTER OR SPLINT . THE CHILD SHOULD BE OBSERVED FOR ANY HEADACHE VOMITINGCONVULSION AND SHOULD IMMEDIATELY BE REPORTED TO TREATINF DOCTOR. HOPE YOUR CHILD REMAIN HEALTHY
