Child With Fever, Breaking Out With Hives, Puffy Eyes After Food Intake. History Of Crack On Motion Bottle. Can This Be The Reason For Reaction?
I gave my 3 year old daughter children s Motrin according to her weight for having a fever of 100.4f. An hour and a half later after having rice and milk she started to break out in numerous hives. It started on her hands, face, her eyes got puffy and then on her back and legs. Now I noticed there was a crack on the motion bottle which I keep in the refrigerator. Could this have caused get reaction?
Your daughter developed hives after taking motrin. This seems to be an allergic reaction to the drug. If the medicine was not stored properly, that could have been one reason for this reaction. But in future never give her ibuprofen (motrin) and always inform doctors and hospital staff about this reaction.
For the present episode you can give her hydroxyzine or cetrizine (get a prescription from your doctor). If she has breathing difficulty or develops puffiness of lips then immediately take her to the ER.
