Child With Non Union Ulna, Post Cast Removale, Family History Of Nf1. Could This Be The Issue?
3 yr old female with non union ulna 4 months post cast removale (original fracture was a displaced fracture of the radius and ulna). Cast was on for 4 wks. At 1 mos f/u appt the arm looked good. 2 mos f/u dr noticed shifting of the ulna so it was casted again for 4wks. There is a family history of nf1 could this be the issue. Why would the arm heal and he regress.

Non union of ulna 4 months after the injury in a 3 year old is a worrisome finding. Systemic metabolic disorders and chromosomal defects need to be ruled out after a detailed blood tests and other investigations.
