Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. My 6 yo was complaining of pain in her left rib cage. No abd pain. No rebound pain. I examined her while she was lying on the floor and her left rib cage is shaped differently than her right. There is more of a bump right around the costal cartilage on the left side only. I then looked at the 3 yo and the same thing. Is this normal? Is the pain just coincidence (ie she pulled a muscle while playing and its not related?) Thanks.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for writing to us Pain in chest might be due to pulled muscle and seems to be just a coincidence and not related to shape of chest. Slight elevation of chest on one side seems to be normal and there is nothing to worry. I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
