Child With Pain In Ribs, Cannot Sit Or Stand. Should Take To ER?
My 6-year-old son suddenly started complaining that his left ribs hurt. He won't sit or stand because he says it hurts to much. He is crying and it is red, but I am not sure if that is because he has been holding his side. he told me that he jumped down from a platform and then ate dinner and then it began with sharp pains. I have him laying on his side on an ice pack now and says it feels a little better but still won't sit or stand. Should I take him to the ER?
Based on your description and his symptom of unable to sit or stand, I would advise to get him checked over in Emergency Room. He may need x-ray to check if the ribs are alright.

Thanks for asking your query here. Based on your description and his symptom of unable to sit or stand, I would advise to get him checked over in Emergency Room. He may need x-ray to check if the ribs are alright. In the meantime, you can give him simple analgesic like Paracetamol (Calpol) Please revert back if you have further queries.
