Child With Sore Throat, Low Grade Fever. Allergy Or Rheumatic Fever?

my 6yr old son was c/o allergy like symptoms including a sore throat off/on about 2-3weeks ago, he didnt feel warm so temp was never taken. His sister was taken to dr and dx with allergies as well so strep never crossed my mind at the time due to his temp not being elevated. He ran a low grade temp of 100.6 - 4 nights ago brought to pediatrician and +strep. Now on amox 400mg x10days. If he had strep this entire time that was missed could he now have rheumatic fever, if so what would i look for specifically and how do i proceed. Now very worried i missed this
