Knees And Thumb Joints Have Started Clicking While Bending, Doesn't Support For Movement. Arthritis?
Over the last 6 months my knees and thumb joints have started clicking when I bend them. My knees are quite painful but my hands and joints do not hurt. My left thumb feels like it doesn't want to bend at times. My knees feel like they do not want to support me when I first start walking after sitting. Is this most likely to be arthritis or something else?
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Migratory joint pain is a very characteristic feature of arthritis. Pain is smaller joint with stiffness is usually related to rheumatoid arthritis, Due to inflammation of the joints there develops swelling in the joints . Stiffness is due to immobility of joint ( inflamed joint). Also there is deposition of uric acid crystals in joints and this worsen the disease. Blood test for E S R ( chronic or acute infection), Rheumatoid factor present in blood hence it may be Rheumatoid arthritis, Gout may be the another cause. So consult a physician/ orthopaedician and get in their opinion. Hope I have answered your question. If further any question I will help. Good wishes. Dr. HET
