Hi Mr Hari. Good Day. The conclusion of your childs USG report says he has mild enlarged liver (Hepatomegaly). Rest everything is fine. Your worry is partially distended gall bladder. It is a normal finding. Let me explain. Gall bladder is a normal organ of human body just like liver, kidneys etc. It a pear shaped sac like structure just below the liver on right side. It is filled with bile and gets contracted after food intake to release the bile content into the intestine to help in digestion of food. So it is well distended in fasting state and gets contracted after a meal. It is a normal physiological process. So during examination of your child this gall bladder was partially contracted, that means it was partially distended and not fully distended. It is absolutely normal. Only abnormal finding is hepatomegaly (enlarged liver), which may be due to many causes like some infection or other diseases and metabolic conditions. Just consult your doctor and clarify it. Its not a major worry. All the best. Bye.
