Child's Temple Is Bigger On One Side, Weaning From Breastfeeding. Something To Worry About?

my daughter is getting weaned from breastfeeding. She was throwing a tantrum because she wasn't getting to nurse. I was letting her cry it out until I noticed area around her temple on one side was starting to look bigger than the other. I nursed her to calm her down and the side now looks normal. Is this something I should worry about?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
You did not mention her age.
While crying the bulging on temple may be because of contracted muscle as it is subsiding after stopping of cry.
In infancy there may be slight differences in the symmetry and size of head and as the age increases they will get corrected.
I suggest you to show this problem to the pediatrician in next well baby visit and discuss your concerns.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
