Chin Injury. Difficulty Opening Mouth, Ear Discomfort, Sore To Touch. Any Advice?
Hi. I fell on the pavement directly onto my lower chin, all of the impact was felt under my chin. I found it difficult to open/close my mouth & chew for a few days, this has since improved, but I still have an unusual feeling in my right ear, it feels like it needs to 'pop'. I am not in any major pain but it is slightly uncomfortable and sore if touched. Any advice?
Hi, based upon your description, I am of the opinion that you are having "Temporomandibular joint arthralgia" which is hurting you. To diagnose this problem, you need to undergo special xrays or may be MRI scan. Please follow the below mentioned guidelines so as to improve your condition -
. Use analgesic anti inflammatory medicines as and when necessary
. Hot fomentation
. Avoid chewing hard items on the side of jaw
Hope you will improve with this regime. Good luck
