I have gone through your query regarding choking, itching and change in voice after an upper respiratory tract infection.
As you said that you are having this problem for last one month and for this you had consulted your family physician, who prescribed you few medicines including antibiotics and by this you felt only temporary relief only.
In your case there appears to be some lesion in upper air way which is continuously spreading infection to throat. these lesions may be sinusitis, allergy of nose and throat, tonsillitis etc, therefore you should do these basic investigations to find out the real problem-
Beside this thorough examination of nose, paranasal sinuses and throat and their clinical co-relation with inferences of above investigation one may reach to correct diagnosis and that may be manage accordingly.
Regards.
